Their mother brought a basket of washed pears, some large and some small.

大家一起分梨，孔融看看哥哥们，又看看篮子。

As the family began to share, Kong Rong looked at his brothers and then at the basket.

他没有争抢，伸手拿起了那只较小的梨。

Without rushing or grabbing, he reached for the smaller pear.

母亲好奇地问：“你为什么不拿大的呢？”

His mother asked with curiosity, “Why didn't you choose a larger one?”

孔融说：“我还小，小梨够了，大的留给哥哥们。”

Kong Rong said, “I am little, so this is enough. The larger pears can be for my brothers.”
