一阵风吹来，浪尖闪着光，忽远忽近地拍着沙滩。

A breeze swept in. Shiny wave crests rolled toward the sand, again and again.

妈妈说：“风把能量送给水面，水面就起了波纹。”

Mother explained, “The wind gives energy to the water’s surface, making ripples grow.”

水面附近的小水团上下前后动，像在原地画小圆圈。

Tiny bits of water near the surface move up, down, forward, and back, almost tracing little circles in place.

小圆圈把能量传给旁边，波峰便一下一下向岸边走。

Each little loop passes energy to its neighbor, so the wave crest travels toward shore, one after another.

靠近浅海，海底让波浪变慢、变陡，最后哗啦破碎。

Near shallow water, the seafloor slows the waves. They grow steeper, then tumble into foamy breakers.

小禾点点头：“水不一定整片跑来，是能量在传呀！”

Xiao He nodded. “So the whole ocean is not rushing in—the energy is traveling!”

她又问：“那潮水为什么会涨落呢？”妈妈笑了。

Then Xiao He asked, “Why does the tide rise and fall?” Mother smiled.

风把能量传给水面，波浪把能量一下一下传向岸边，浅水处便变陡破碎。

Wind gives energy to the sea, and waves carry that energy toward shore before breaking in shallow water.
