"Do they chase the sun all day?" Mia asked her mother.

Mother said, "First, look at a young flower bud. It has an inner clock and senses light."

白天，茎两边生长速度不同，花苞便从东转向西。

In daylight, the two sides of its stem grow at different speeds, so the bud turns from east to west.

夜里，它又慢慢转回东方，迎接第二天的光。

At night, it slowly turns back east, ready for the next day's light.

花开成熟后，茎变硬，通常固定朝东，不再整天追太阳。

When the flower matures, its stem becomes stiff and usually stays facing east instead of chasing the sun all day.

小米点点头：“原来会转的是幼花苞，成熟花常朝东方！”
