阳光给它能量；水和二氧化碳合成糖，还放出氧气。

Sunlight provides energy. Water and carbon dioxide become sugar, while oxygen is released.

糖能在呼吸中释放能量，也能成为生长身体的材料。

Plants use sugar in respiration to release energy, and they also turn it into materials for growing.

可光照不是全部：植物还要水、空气和土里的矿物质。

But sunlight is not enough. Plants also need water, air, and minerals from the soil.

小雨看着挺立的苗：“阳光、水、空气和矿物质，要一起帮它长大！”
