白鹿国师说，把孩子们的灯合成一盏大灯，就能让国王永远开心。唐僧问：“你先问过孩子愿不愿意吗？”

The White Deer Adviser claimed that combining the children's lanterns would keep the king happy forever. Tang Seng asked, “Did you first ask whether the children agreed?”

孩子们纷纷说，灯里画着自己的家人、宠物和梦想，不想交出去。家长们也站到孩子身边，一起表达不同意。

The children explained that their lanterns held drawings of family, pets, and dreams, and they did not want to give them away. Their parents stood beside them and agreed.

悟空提议做一盏新的公共花灯，不拿走任何孩子的作品。八戒找竹条，沙僧搭灯架，白龙马运来彩纸。

Wukong suggested making a new public lantern without taking any child's work. Bajie gathered bamboo strips, Sha Wujing built the frame, and White Dragon Horse carried colored paper.

国王也来到广场。他听见孩子们的想法后，决定让每个家庭把一个愿望图案贴到公共灯上，原来的灯仍归孩子所有。

The king came to the square and listened. He decided each family could add one wish shape to the public lantern while children kept their original lanterns.

白鹿国师终于明白：让国王开心，不能靠拿走别人的珍爱之物。他向孩子们道歉，并把收灯的篮子改成了送纸的篮子。

White Deer Adviser understood that the king's happiness could not come from taking cherished things. He apologized and turned the collection baskets into baskets for giving out paper.

夜晚，千家小灯和一盏公共大灯一起亮起。每个孩子都能指给家人看：哪一小块图案是自己贡献的。

That night, hundreds of family lanterns glowed beside one large community lantern. Every child could show their family the small shape they had contributed.

离城时，白鹿铃牌忽然响了三声。路边出现一扇通往地下的圆门，门缝里传来清脆的钥匙铃声。

As they left, the white-deer token chimed three times. A round doorway appeared beside the road, and a tiny key bell rang from underground.

孩子的安全和感受不能被任何漂亮理由忽略；大人要倾听、保护，也要勇敢拒绝不合理的要求。

No beautiful excuse should outweigh a child's safety and feelings. Adults must listen, protect, and say no to unreasonable demands.
