Someone remembered that Tang Seng had refused treasure and guessed, "Could they have come back for it?"

寇员外摇头说：“他们连多一件行李都不肯带。没有证据，不能先定罪。”

县里的差役在路上追上师徒，请他们回去说明。唐僧答应配合，悟空却先请大家保护好现场。

County helpers caught up and asked the travelers to return and explain. Tang Seng agreed, while Wukong first asked everyone to preserve the scene.

回到库房，悟空看见门锁完好，窗边却粘着湿泥，泥里还有一片芦苇叶。

Back at the storeroom, Wukong saw that the lock was intact, but wet mud and a reed leaf clung to the window ledge.

The magistrate agreed to follow the clues and detain no one. Elder Kou asked the neighbors to take back their guesses.

悟空望向芦苇荡：“真相已经留下脚印。我们一起去找，不让无辜的人背着误会。”

Wukong looked toward the reeds. "The truth has left footprints. Let us find it together, so no innocent person carries the blame."

事情没查清之前，不急着责怪别人，才能给真相留下位置。
