朋友追上来提醒：“楚国在南边，你走反啦！”

His friend caught up. “Chu is south. You are going the wrong way!”

旅人说：“别担心，我的马跑得又快又有力。”

“Do not worry,” said the traveler. “My horse is fast and strong.”

他又说：“我带的钱很多，车夫的本领也特别好。”

“I have plenty of money, and my driver is very skilled,” he added.

朋友摇头：“这些越好，只会让你更快离开楚国。”

His friend shook his head. “Those advantages only take you away faster.”

旅人望着车辙，终于明白这正是南辕北辙。

Looking at the tracks, the traveler finally understood that his journey opposed his goal.

他调转马车，先认准方向，再踏踏实实向南出发。

He turned the carriage around, checked the direction, and started south.

能力和条件再好，也要先找准方向；方向错了，越努力可能离目标越远。

Even strong skills and good resources need the right direction; effort on the wrong road can carry us farther from the goal.
